Academic Excellence & Intellectual Development Ceremony
Our annual celebration of scholarship opens the academic year: first-class honours are conferred, faculty prizes announced, and new scholars welcomed into the Brookfield fellowship in front of family and friends.
The day pairs ceremony with substance — a morning lecture from the Vice-Chancellor, an afternoon symposium where prize-winners present their work, and a garden reception on the quad to close.

Programme of the Day
09:00 — Procession & conferral of honours
Doors open thirty minutes early; student volunteers will guide you to the hall.
11:00 — Vice-Chancellor’s annual lecture
Open to all ticket holders, with time for questions from the floor.
13:30 — Prize-winners’ research symposium
Faculty hosts and alumni guests join each session for discussion.
15:00 — Garden reception on the quad
A relaxed close with refreshments and a chance to meet the speakers.
